A BEAUTY RARE

Can you smell the fragrance
Of a budding rose?
It sends forth its perfume
As it gently grows.

One by one the petals
Burst into full bloom;
Sending forth its fragrances,
Till it fills the room.

We are like that flower,
With a beauty rare.
Sending forth a fragrance
To lost ones everywhere.

His name is as an ointment;
Poured forth to the weak.
Share the Name of Jesus,
So His love, they will seek.

Be that wondrous fragrance
Drawing men to God.
Be that wondrous fragrance;
Share God’s love abroad.

IT'S TIME LORD - HOUSEHOLD SALVATION

It’s time Lord, to see time; the time that’s passing by,
While we sit back in easy chairs and hear not those who cry;
Cries of hurting people, scarred so deep within,
Scarred from all their past, and scarred with the weight of sin.

It’s time Lord, that we get up; get off our easy chairs,
And lead these ones to Jesus, Who’ll shoulder all their cares.
It’s time Lord that we would see these ones, through Jesus’ eyes,
Free of all the hurting, and free from Satan’s lies.

It’s time Lord to speak for You; speak to our loved ones dear,
And tell them of our Savior, Who’ll drive away their fears.
It’s time to be their Bible that they will read and see
May they see Christ in our lives; see Jesus as the Key.

Key to true forgiveness; key to a life supreme,
Life that’s lived in Jesus and fulfills their every dream.
Yes, Jesus, You’re the answer, the answer to their need;
Help us tell the whole world; help us plant the seed.

GRANDMA'S GIFT

Grandma, we give you a special task;
It’s something needed, of you, we ask.
To pray your family through to God,
Allowing the Lord, to gently prod.

Grandma, you have time; much time to share
The burdens of life, your children bear,
But most of all, you have time to pray
That they’ll be drawn to the Savior’s way.

Pray in the harvest; harvest of souls,
Praying them through to eternal goals.
Pray without ceasing, and you will see,
Your children won for eternity.

Fell not, your days are wasted or spent.
Your prayers will see your family repent.
Keep pressing on to the Throne of Grace;
Never give up, the fight of faith.

God hears the prayers of a Grandma Dear;
God hears your prayers and see all your tears.
He sees you as a beacon of light,
As you call to Him through the day and night.

No one can replace a Grandma’s love;
A love that’s gentle as a dove,
A love that will see the children through,
When they, themselves, get in a ‘stew’.

Our Grandmas seem to understand;
Our Grandmas don’t throw up their hands,
They move, instead, to bended knees
And bring to Father, all their pleas.

NATURE

Nature is a wondrous thing;
Sparrows and the robins sing.
God who made earth and heaven,
Made for the birds a little haven.

Many wild and wondrous flowers
Spring up in the woods.
By the rains, they are showered,
Through the sun they get their food.

In the woods so bountiful
Deer run to and fro,
With the freedom of a man,
After the hunting season goes.

Oh that men would realize,
What God has given them,
Through nature and its beauty,
And the sun, a shining gem.

Writer’s Note:
This was my 1st poem ever written
 while in English class in Grade 11

LIFE'S MOUNTAIN CLIMBER

The jagged rocks along the road,
Speak of life as they unfold.
They’re sharp and ragged and often steep,
Making our footing hard to keep.

Life has so many ups and downs,
Causing us to oft lose ground;
But we plug on in the climb of life,
Fearing not, the times of strife.

Our climb is ever upward,
Looking to higher goals,
Looking to the Savior,
The Keeper of our souls.

GOD'S BEAUTY

God’s beauty is all around us,
God’s beauty is everywhere;
The Fall brings forth its colors
In a spectrum, oh so rare.

The hues of gold and of crimson;
Blending of burnt orange and brown;
Caught in the rays of sunlight,
To shine like a shimmering gown.

The beauty’s oh so breathtaking,
How can we comprehend
That God, the Great Creator,
Could give us such a blend?

IN THE TWINKLING OF AN EYE

In the twinkling of an eye
When the skies are open wide
And the angels fill the heavens with a shout.
We will see the Lord above
Coming down in glory bright,
As He gathers all His loved ones to His side.

What will happen in that day
When the Lord returns this way?
Will you hear His welcome voice say, "Come My child?"
Or will you stay upon this earth,
With those who had no time
To accept the joy and peace that Jesus gives?

Oh my friend, won't you today,
Let the Savior have His way?
Open up your heart and let the Savior in.
He will fill you with a peaceAnd give joy and full release,
And your burdens will be rolled back as a tide.
Now when Jesus passes by,
In the twinkling of an eye,
You will hear Him say, "Come with Me, child of Mine.
For you've given Me your heart
And have surely done your part,
Now today, you'll reign with me eternally.
